  • Yellowing wild rocket and plant getting smaller

Why does this happen so much with me. I buy a new plant and on many instances it starts to grow smaller. I potted on a healthy wild rocket plant into a larger pot with high quality nursery (not garden centre) compost that has been sterilised. I have been picking leaves from this from time to time but not over harvesting. I am noticing the plant getting smaller and the outside leaves yellowing.

I have no idea why. Is this yet another plant bought that will end in a mysterious way?

Rocket is a short-lived plant. Maybe its done its time.

Not perennial rocket, that lasts for years usually so I'm at a loss as to what is happening. Do you have a photo?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I don't think one plant is enough. Usually when picking rocket leaves to eat it is usual to pick over several plants so that you don't weaken them to much. The older outer leaves will turn yellow.

It looks healthy enough other than the yellow leaves but it was a new plant bought a month ago.

If you've only had it a month and have picked from it several times I wouldn't expect it to have put on much growth.
