I bought a packet of the cucumelon seeds and of the nine seeds just one germinated and died, no problems with any other seeds and these were sown in 3 groups of 3 so no idea why we lost them but I wont bother with them again..

            Sowed 5 seeds all get
rminated in my conservatory. Potted on into 3 inch pots and growing away nicely. 1 is now about foot tall with tendrils and ready to pot on again. Will go in greenhouse soon.

Had them last year. Grew like weeds and gave me hundreds of fruits. no real care needed.

Edit: forgot to add, this was in a greenhouse, not outside

I've grown them this year just for the hell of it, as they sound great and the children should love them. If they don't do much then so be it. I got my seeds from RealSeeds, and so far I have four young plants I've just planted out and a fifth doing nicely in a cell tray.
Is there anything that isn't made better by half an hour pottering in the veg patch?

                        Hi
I got 6 plants in the post. They are now about 6 feet high and producing lots of cucumelons about the size of a grape. If left too long they get a bit woody.
Watering every day, plants dont look very strong but have made a lot of growth.
Taste cucumber with a sharp lime taste.
Yours should be at this stage by now. Picked about 40 fruits today.

I've planted 3 cucumelons outside, all growing well and producing fruit - not sure about the taste though. I've read that pickling them is good, has anyone tried it?

Grown from seed the last couple of years and they grow like weeds with stacks of fruit. Tried over wintering them last year but lost them.
Keep them in the greenhouse but they will clime over any other plants that are there.
