  • Help - Tomato ID

    Hi,

I hope someone can help me, I foolishly didn't label my tomato seedlings when I potted them on, thinking I would remember which was which. I had two varieties, Gardeners Delight and First in the Field. Is there any way I can spot which is which as one is a cordon variety and one is a bush variety, so I don't know which one to pinch out!

    Won't be doing that again!

    Thanks

Yes I have both and there should be a marked difference.

My first in field are short and stubby bush type with dark foliage. Gardener's delight are taller and have side shoots that some people like to nip out.

If you would like a pic let me know!

While wearing your night clothes, plant cucumbers on the 1st May before the sun comes up, and they will not be attacked by bugs.

The bush varieties often have thicker stems

My First in field are short, stocky and stubby.

They almost look like heads of broccoli pushed into pots.

Thank you, I will have a close look and see if I can tell the difference
So can you grow Gardeners delight without pinching out the side shoots then? Just curious.

Gardeners delight is a cordon variety, train up a cane and nip the side shoots out as it grows.
