'Bubbleberries' go on sale in UK
Fruit that looks like a strawberry but tastes like bubblegum introduced to supermarkets

    Fragaria moschata apparently

Chiltern seeds have the seeds in.

    Anyone tried them?

must be a marketing name for the Fragaria moschata, or a breeders name like pineberry and strasberry/frasberry for named cultivars of strawberry
I have fair few varieties of the musk strawberry, real interesting flavours, some one berry is like eating a whold bowl of shop bought strawberrys that that perfumed and rich, and there is others that very bland and almost crunchy, not under ripe its just that varieties nature, berries tend to be a bit smaller than typical strawberries
I have some very old fruit books which details this species of strawberry in great detail and tells the story of them being grown in the uk , no one really like them and being discarded from collections and saying they will never become popular so its great to see them getting a return to shops
some varieties of the mochata can be male, or female or dual sex like most modern day strawberries,
the varieties I have and to look for are
capron, framboise, cotta, askungen, (no name one), Russian, bauwens, marie charlotte, eva liebmeister, siegerland, there might be a few others ive forgot I have
                best wishes Stew
