  • Hello from Southampton

Hello, my name is Adam and I'm from Southampton in Hampshire. I work in a hospital and my partner is an illustrator.

We took over a 10 rod allotment at the beginning of the month and have been getting to grips with gardening. We were fortunate to take over a plot with a shed and polytunnel and one where all the beds were covered in tarpaulin.

That's not to say there hasn't been a lot of work to do with weeding, digging over the beds, making repairs and, obviously planting.

A month in and we've got quite a lot in the ground from peas to onions to potatoes and tomatoes. Not a lot bursting through the rather sodden clay soil to greet us yet but plenty of promise.

So, yes, hello. I'm very much looking forward to meeting people on this forum and getting lots of ideas and advice!

Our plot about a week ago.

Haha, sadly I don't look quite as calm and clean as him when I've been down on the plot. Perhaps if he had clay up to his elbows and decapitated weeds sticking out of his top pocket it'd be more realistic.
