Looks more like blue alkanet. Comfrey leaves are much bigger.

I'm not convinced, comfrey has fuzzy leaves, so give it a feel and see if its smooth or fuzzy.

On a side subject, can anyone enlighten me on how to add a thumbnail picture in my post that when you click on the thumbnail it takes you to the bigger picture, just like the one above.

              TIA

My money is on Borage ... if the blue flowers face upwards then its likely to be Borage, dangling flowers then Comfrey.

Excited because you thought it was Comfrey, and want Comfrey plants?

If so, personally, I would not have a self-sown one, but rather the Bocking-14 sterile one (for which you will have to get a cutting - a bit of root will grow, and the local allotment growers should have loads and will no doubt spare you a bit).

I grew Comfrey from seed, before I knew about Bocking-14. That was 7 years ago and I still have it springing up in places, even though I eradicate it whenever I see it now

I got mine from the company below and they are on there 2nd year and growing like mad. Have taken a crop off already for the potatoes. Not too expensive either for a crop that will last for years.
