Lavender is excellent, it's evergreen, you can keep it trimmed low, the flowers will attract lots of pollinators for your crops, and if you are patient, you can create an entire hedge from one plant by taking lots of cuttings.

Chives are good, and the bees love the flowers. However, they do die back during the winter.

Thyme may also be suitable. Lots of varieties to choose from - or mix and match in your border.

Sorrel is good.
You can also get a red version but I believe it's rather tough to eat. Looks pretty though!

My tata patch is totally surrounded by a row of onions..i didnt want to waste a plot for onions so i have bordered stuff off with them
