  • What has happened to my Chillies!?

I noticed this yesterday happening to the leaves on 2 of my chilli plants. I have no idea when it began but it seems the leaves on one side of the plant are dying / drying up and shrivelling.

It is strange as it is only happening one side of each plant (for now!) and both plants are affected on the same side that they were facing.

I have not really done anything different in the past few days, they are usually on a south facing windowsill, but the past 3 days I have taken them into the greenhouse from about 13:00 - 18:00.

I have recently started feeding them, twice so far, the first was about 10 days ago. Could this have caused it? (Seaweed Fertilizer).

Looks like it's either and cold draft or too hotter sun

      Have they been scorched?

I noticed it as I was taking them out of the greenhouse yesterday. I have had them in there the past few days as it has been warm and sunny.

Do you reckon the sun was a bit too strong or it was bit stifling in the GH? It is the first time they have been in there.

              Nope, it is glass.

I will get a pic of the underside of the leaves later today.

Looks like scorch to me, especially if it's affected both plants on the same side. I'd take off the affected leaves and move them out of direct sunlight

Just had another thought - you're not overwatering are you?

I am inclined to agree with Florence.

A photo of the underside of the leaves should confirm.....

I don't get that in my GH. When were they last watered? They look like they have been scorched or possibly dried up with lack of water.

I treat chillies mean to keep 'em keen. I don't pot them on until the roots are bursting through the pot and then only into the next size pot up (IYKWIM) and I keep them on the dry side in warmth, but not full sun. They look like healthy plants other than the couple of leaves so you should be ok
