  • Cucumbers leaking from leaves?

I planted 5 Zeina F1 cucumbers far to early (late feb) and they have been on window ledges since and getting pot bound. So yesterday I potted them up into 30cm pots and left them outside in the sun for the rest of the day and bought them back in around 6.30pm when I noticed the edge of the leaves are dripping wet. They are still this morning, is this normal/bad and is it due to the lower temp, or being potted up after being badly pot bound? The leaves still look healthy at the moment anyway.

After potting on or transplanting it is best to keep plants in the shade for a couple of days.

OK Thank you, does this apply to all plants?

Yes Simon. Repotting them subjects them to stress, and no matter how careful you are you will inevitably disturb some roots.

Give them a couple of days out of strong sunshine to recover and they will romp away.

The drops of water round the edges of leaves are quite normal. I've not grown cucumbers myself, but hey are related to courgettes and they do this frequently. The technical term is "guttation" Guttation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
