I went down to B & Q this morning to get some bark chips to smother any weeds, I got the 4 for the price of 3 bags and went to pay where I was told that from today if you pick anything that has any sort of discount offer on it your usual Wednesday over 60s card is worth nothing, so I left them there and looking at the piles of stuff around the checkout I wasn't the only one. I wouldn't have minded so much if this was announced anywhere in the store but we wondered why the checkout was taking so long and stuff being left there as we saw several people walk out, it seems they are learning from the politicians and bankers and bring it in and say nothing til you have to .I will now shop elsewhere as b&q are no cheaper than anywhere else now, this may save you a more expensive journey if you did qualify for the now useless 60s card....

Good for you buffs, I think there struggling every time I go in they've got one person on the tills and the prices are getting close to what you pay at rip off builders merchants, can't stand the place I only go in if I'm desperate

These days ours seems to always be the self service tills only even at a weekend, and good luck trying to track down a member of staff for assistance too. These days I only tend to use them for the garden centre as it's the nearest to me. Even then I've found The Range and B&M to have equal quality at better prices. For DIY stuff I'll usually go to Screwfix, and for materials it's Wickes
