  • New allotment

Hi all, new to this forum.

Have 2 weeks ago I got myself a huge allotment !! I have done a bit of Small time veg growing in the garden but nothing on this scale. Have got no seeds in as yet so I know I am very behind , will need to get to a garden centre for some ready started bits.
Have rotavated a composted and put done potatoes and onions in. Does any one have any tips on what I need to be going over next couple of weeks ???

Hi Nicki & welcome to the vine. I don't think you are behind at all with maybe the exception of Chillis. Have a look at "The Seed Sowing Thread" to see what others are sowing at the moment.

Sorry, I don't like Chillis so I don't grow them. You would need somewhere warm to grow them so would be good if you had a greenhouse. I really don't know if it is too late but from what I have read other grapes started theirs way back in January/February.

Is going to be hard work this year but am hoping once I have the big bits done it will be easier to manage. Need to build shed, connect guttering to water butts etc.

Sounds like a busy few months are on the cards.
