  • onions going in!

I have just been looking at some photos of everything that I grew last year in the garden. (My first ever real growing season).

Last April was freezing cold! Yet for whatever reason I planted out my tiny onion seedlings on 6th April.

These were onions I grew from seed in the g/h from around January. And were around 4 inches tall with 2 leaves when I planted them out.

My current seedlings are several inches tall and have 3 or 4 leaves

So they are going in this Sunday hopefully!!!!!!

Has anybody else planted theirs out?

Mine NEED to go in, they are getting big and looking a bit yellow-starved. Started hardening off at the weekend, so they will go out at weekend "ready or not"

harden off! I better start doing that now!

I have just got home from allotment. I see that lots of peoples onion sets have been pulled clean from the ground.

I threw some fleece over mine when I planted them last Sunday.

When I put the seedlings in this weekend, I will remove the fleece and cover the entire lot with debris netting for a few weeks I guess....
