  • MPC or Seed compost

Right, this is probably somewhere but I couldn't it, sorry!

Following on from my "Allotments on a Budget" thread, I'm wondering if I HAVE to buy seed compost to get some started on the windowsill or if I can use a decent MPC instead? Seed compost is so much more expensive and as I don't drive, I'd have to pay for a bag to be delivered. Whereas I can get MPC up the road and not have to pay for delivery.

I realise that I might not get as good results but presume it won't stop germination and growing of seeds to seedlings?

I always use MPC, it might benefit from being riddled. It works fine for me. Seeds dont need nutrients to sprout, they would do this on a damp flannel.
