Sow in pots. You can then remove individual pots as your seedlings germinate.

You can sow in trays too but then it can be difficult as different seeds germinate at different rates. I find that for the things I put in my propagator (ie toms, aubergines, peppers, chillies etc) the seeds are big enough to sow one per small (and separate) pot so that I can fish it out asap as soon as it germinates.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

You will enjoy using the propagator as they are so useful. Sow in pots/ trays as Alison says they all germinate at different rates. Tomatoes are ridiculously fast. Be careful on sunny days if you have some germinated seeds as they can get badly scorched as the temperature will soar with the lid on. I learnt the hard way!
