  • VSP Pot Luck Spring Clean 2014

    The VSP contains a lot of duplicate packets of seeds. Most of them are ordinary varieties like Moneymaker tomatoes, Basil, Californian Wonder peppers. The time has come for a spring clean so I'm offering them back to members of the Grapevine.

    There are a few conditions attached :-

    1. You must have been a member of the Forum for a month and have made 50 or more posts;

    2. You must post on this thread your reason for wanting the seeds and what you intend to do with them (eg grow them in a community garden, donate to a school, you're broke...); No PMs !!

    3. You will need to send me a Large letter stamp (about 69p 2nd class) and envelope;

    4. The seeds will be randomly selected by me and may be past their "Sow Before" date. There are no guarantees of viability ;

    5. All expressions of interest must be made by 23rd March when I will select the lucky Grapes;

    6. If you receive seeds from this clear-out, you cannot swap them back into the VSP for other seeds I'll know who has had what, so don't even think about it!!

    Look forward to giving away some VSP seeds - I need the space for my own seed stash

    I will take whatever for a verity of reasons

    1. I'm in need of cheering up!
    2. I'm a seed hoarder.
    3. I have seen the box of seeds that would require a spare room to accommodate
    4. Ketchup ketchup ketchup
    And last but not least
    5. I'm stir crazy with boredom

        Hello,please can I 'make an expression of interest' in these poor old seeds.

        I don't like to think of them being possible homeless or thrown out, and would be happy to offer them a home.

        I'd like to share with my grandson, and show him out to sow some seeds, and let him take some home, to watch them grow.

        Thank you

          I'd love some for the community garden me, Andy and Tracey run.
          https://www.facebook.com/groups/sout...mmunitygarden/

          We're having a seed swap on the 24th March - I know they won't get there in time for that - but they can be used on the garden by us during the year and then we might be doing another swap event later in the year.

            Hi VC, if there are any left, maybe send them to the charity Thrive? Got this idea fom a book I am reading by Emma Cooper. Thrive are a horticultural therapy charity
            Gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes

              Dear VC

              It would be amazing if you could send me some seeds for the following reasons:

              I aspire to be a seed hoarder but I'm missing the seeds!!

              I promise to sow every seed.... I cannot promise plants!!

              I also will post pictures to show my success

              All the best

              A seedless hoarder,

                      Reasons for coveting veggiechicken's spare VSP seeds...

                      I do a spot of guerilla gardening here and there...

                      My brother is moving back to Leicestershire after a few years 'out in the wilderness' of East Anglia, and will need new plants for a new garden

                      I find people often say "I'd love some of those" and it would be nice to give them a some seeds rather than digging up one of my own plants

                      I'm always willing to give a home to wandering seed packets

                      BUT, I like HH's suggestion, and think giving them to charity is a great idea.

                      Endless wonder.

                        I'm more than happy for them to go to a charity -see Condition 2
                        " You must post on this thread your reason for wanting the seeds and what you intend to do with them (eg grow them in a community garden, donate to a school, you're broke...);"
                        However I have too much to do to get involved with finding the addresses and contacts etc. If you want to have the seeds and pass them to your favourite charity, in the name of the VSP/Grapevine, please do so.

                          If I get any I will certainly forward them on unless I find any of the devil fruit (chillies) amongst them
