    Kiwi Jenny - anyone interested?

    Some folks may have picked up that I'm looking to get rid of my Jenny Kiwi Fruit, as it's just not suitable for my garden. It's in a planter at the minute topped off with chamomile, but I need that planter back.

    If anyone in/around South Yorkshire is interested and has a suitable spot for it, shout up. At the mo it's woven round a trellis arch, so I'd have to cut it back, but I'll then bring it round in the car, help you chuck it in the hole you've prepared in advance and then scarper with my empty planter

    Seems a waste to chuck it, and there isn't any friends or family with a suitable place for it. If more than one of you are interested, feel free to fight over it and we'll conjure up some rules after

            Its amazing what you can work out with bing maps looks like your roughly a 40 minute drive from me but I always get lost using a sat nav so it'd prob take me about 2 hours to get there!

            I'm sure someone a bit closer would love this though. Its very generous of you to offer it up for free.

                Good point VC! Mine can't really take off here as the pot is too small, and light is too limited. Hence the offer.

                In a south facing spot, planted in the ground, it's have a chance to perform well once established. It will need a machete (well, pruning shears anyway ) waving at it a couple of times a year. According to the wisdom of the net, pruning all new growth back to 4" when it reaches 8" will improve fruiting and stop it taking over your neighbourhood

                GG, it would make more sense for me to drop it off to whoever gets it locally - otherwise they'll need to make another trip later to give me my pot back

                  Someone could collect if they bring with them a hessian sack/same size planter/pot to transfer the kiwi into from your planter.

                        It's now free of the trellis and ready to go. Here it is roughly gathered up just to stop the vines getting damaged. Ignore the mess on top of the planter. That's just a couple of the old leaves that I'll get rid of before it goes, and the other greenery is chamomile

                          UPDATE: The kiwi will be going up to live with GardenGayle when time and weather permits
