  • jerusalem artichoke question

Previous years my JAs have all been well under the soil. This year some of the roots are showing above the soil, so my question is, are they still OK to eat if they have been above the soil, or are they like potatoes and should be completely covered?

If not fit for eating, I can set them aside for next years crop, not that I've ever had to save any before, as they are really hard to get rid of once you've got them.

as long as they aint turned green then I would say yes. I saw a squirrel running off with a bit of one that broke while lifting last weekend. It should be flying over your area anytime now if it work on them like it does on me...................................

Well, they don't look green. I'll get one up and peel it tomorrow, see what it's like. Thanks, arpoet.
