  • Potato Days ... 2014

    Hi all,
Anyone know of any potato days in the midlands for next year? I contacted Ryton in Coventry but they informed me that they are not running one next year after searching the internet all I seem to be able to find is down south and around London
Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year to all
    Tel.

I've been doing a course at Ryton and they recently got rid of their commercial interests to focus on the education side, so I wondered if they'd have a potato day.

Last year I also went to Dundry nursery not far from the M5 motorway by cheltenham. Their potato days are 18 & 19th Jan and their website details varieties they try to stock. They maintain stock up to easter so you can pop in whenever. Last year i emailled them and they offered to reserve some potatoes and let me know when new varieties came in so i could collect at my convenience. Great range and cheaper than any other stockist I know at 20p a tuber.

Sorry, Ive only just spotted this thread. The updated list at UK Potato Days has the majority of those that I can find advertised anywhere, but as you say the Midlands is not too well represented - if you can make it to Telford, you'll find the largest selection around and it's run by a professional whose family raises potatoes!

They're coming thick and fast from this weekend onwards - the Hampshire Day is now in its 16th year

                          Phil
