  • Can I still eat these?

While preparing some new beds for next year found a surprise harvest of potatoes but they have brown blistered skin. My little girl is so excited to try them but not sure if we can?? This is the worst effected potato but they all have a little bit of this on them

    Looks like scab to me.
Scrape off the skin and it should go.

    Yup- I'd eat them!

no bother, cut of the scabby bits and alls well,a lot fresher than the so called new potatoes, that have been stored in compost, just so they can sell so call new one,

If you take the skin off and they are sound underneath then eat and enjoy is my advice.

She was so pleased when I put them on the table. This morning she went out to see if any more had grown!

I love it when you find stuff in the soil, hiding when you thought you had dug everything up! Trouble is by the time you find it this time of year its normally past it.... i found a few carrots the other day which I thought i had harvested but they were tiny!
