  • TKs Onions.

So I met with my mate TK today to have a pint and put the world to rights (we were successful by the way).

TK was converted to container growing a couple of years back and as some may know we had a bit of a onion competition this year. (More or less a draw).

Today however he dropped a picci on the table of one of his onion containers. The container is approximately 10" deep and well under a square metre and in it sit about 13-14 onions all over 2lbs in weight, more or less touching each other.

There are some who will tell you that you just can't grow good crops in containers, well this picci gives the lie to that statement, BIG TIME.

And so just for VC (the lady has been asking to see them) I give you TKs onions.

I don't want to scare you matey but just think how big they would have been if he had given them more space

Thank you Potty but I'm so disappointed that TK isn't bold enough to show me his own onions. After all, I've been looking at yours all year long and I'm impressed even though I know that Ap has had a hand in the size of yours.............

Best off it is AP those were a 'side crop' if you like, his best onions were in a raised bed in the GH.

Those were just some spare seedlings, we have also set ourselves the task of growing onions so that they touch each other and the man very nearly got that right to.
