    cockeral not crowing

    Hi I have a cock about 7 months old it is a silkie x ex battery it is mating all the hens but hasn't crowed once. I have never heard it make any noise come to think of it. Is it normal/possible to have a mute bird?.
    The only other conclusion I have came to is its female and ive got a lesbian chicken lmao. Any advice would be grateful

    Don't knock it, mate!

    I have a Hen that treads the other Hens - she has big red comb and wattles like a fella, but still lays and doesn't crow. Post a picture, and we'll tell you what we think...

      A Silkie was dumped in the woods near me - took me 2 days to catch it. 2 weeks later it crowed!! Think I know why he was dumped

        He may not crow but I bet he whispers sweet nothings into the hens ears.

          Why o why o why did I open my bloody mouth. 5am this morning the bleeder woke me up "trying" to crow. Be time for the stock pot soon if he gets too noisy I think.
