    2 Hens requiring rehoming

    Hi there,

    It is with a heavy heart that I write this message to try and find a new home for our two hens. We have a white sussex and a blackrock who are both about 2.5 years old.

    Unfortunately, they have grown increasingly bored with their surroundings recently and a number of coop / run renovations has not helped. This has led to a few issues with feather pecking etc.

    We have decided (sadly) to try to find a new home for them, and can provide a coop which has been modified to include a run if required.

    If you would like any further information, or pictures, please just let me know.

        Are you sure they're bored? Give them a climbing frame, and hang up some goodies for them to peck at.

        If they're pecking, have you checked for parasites?

        Just a thought.

          Further to G4 comment ^^,maybe check the underside of the perch for red mites

            Hi all,

            Thanks for the messages. We're fairly certain it's boredom as they stop for a bit if we add / change something in their run. It isn't just the pecking as one of them will cry if she's on her own / can't see her faithful human!

            We've tried amending lots of things in their coop, giving extra perches, hanging veg, mirrors etc but to no avail.

            We've checked for red mite several times and can't see anything There is usually a reason behind her crying but I cannot fathom this one out!
