I made the decision to pick it, and eat it whole.

It was hot as HELL!

And I just downed a load of milk to ease the pain.

Incredible really, as it was tiny!

I still do not understand how the fruit was ripe when it was only very small. Any thoughts on this anyone?

Was it solitary on the plant, or are other chillis forming?

I've got a couple starting to form, but no where near ready.

Glad you had the milk to hand.

Watering has a effect on heat as well if you keep the soil on the dry'er side the chillies become hotter on the damp side there mild.... Well so I've read

CG, did you have those seeds from the VSP? The only Orange Habanero seeds on there have a note that says "Saved seed - May have cross-pollinated"

My white habs last year were about that size, 12mm, but were late to ripen as most superhots. However they did pack a massive punch too.

I grew them in 6inch pots and the plant was about 30cm high. Not sure if thats normal for that variety or not. Did get loads of chillis, though all were small.

My white habs have had a growth spurt I hope I get some from my plant

Hey Darcy,
Both pics from lasat sumemr. The first pic shows mainly a Nepalese Bell, but also a bit of a white Habanero (lime green at this point), which is the only photo I have of a White hab plant. Don't think it'll help too much but have a look.

Second pic is of a mixture of harvested peppers/chillis last year. The sweet chocolate peppers are normal size, the longish ones are Cayennes, and the White Habs are in the bottom left of the pic.

HI Vc, no the orange habs were from marshalls......

also, this plant has around a dozen chillies on it, and they have actually all remained around the same size for around 3 weeks now. i,e approx 12mm diameter.

They do not seem to be getting bigger at all!

But lots of flowers are continually being produced.

Seems strange that they are not getting bigger...

I have found some of my habaneros, especially my peach one, set fruit and ripened through the winter but they didn't grow very big. The flavour and heat were there, but no seeds inside, so a pollination problem with mine. Not surprising as no insects, and I didn't hand pollinate. Did yours contain seeds? As I'm the only one eating them, a tiny chilli is just right for chilli mayo
