  • Label label label!

Cos you won't remember what you planted! I've done it again, planted some seeds and I remember thinking at the time 'I'll know what they are !' Well they've started growing and I haven't a clue!!
Going to give them a bit longer to see if it all comes back to me, if it doesn't will post a pic.

Been there, done that Specially when potting on tomatoes into individual pots and being too bloody tight to put a label in each pot. This year I will do better.

This is why I have to draw diagrams. Couldn't tell you the varieties, as I'm yet to be that diligent.

The biggest lie I ever tell is "I don't need to write that don't, I'll remember it.."

I buy packs of the plastic labels from Wilko's and stick one per pot.
Pencil tends not to fade so that is what they get written in.
Learnt to do each pot as I replant or repot whatever.

Masking tape on the pot, and a marker pen, works well too; if the pots/trays get knocked over for some reason, the tape doesn't fall out like a label does

Like this idea, cheap and cheerful.

I do this too, but with pencils - I had a pen bleed when the pots got wet once, though I suppose it was a biro, not marker

I have some great wooden forks and spoons that I aquired at a conference. They look great as a label- written in pencil. Only problem being the little girls that sometimes come and "help" me on my allotment- think it's useful to go round collecting all these mysterious forks that appear all over my soil.

So as well as labeling- maybe take a quick snap on your mobile- in case the label is taken or smudged!

I cut up margarine tubs to make labels and write on them with a sharpy, but again that's no help when the hubby knocks the pots over and mixes them up!
