  • Hello from Huntly, Aberdeenshire!

I bought a house in the country near Huntly, Aberdeenshire and it came with 7 acres of land. Since I bought it I now have a variety of animals and birds like chickens, ducks, goats, horses, cats and a dog. It's great having chickens and ducks for the eggs as they obviously much better than store sold eggs. Now with the threat of Monsanto supplying Genetically Modified food (poison) in our local supermarkets it is time to be more self sufficient. This is my plan to build a poly-tunnel, grow some fruits and vegetables and what I don't consume I will freeze.

I'm not much of a gardener so this is a great place to brush up on the How's and Why's and what's of growing veggies and fruits. With the powers that be making things more expensive and taxing us to hell with their poor excuse of a lie called Global Warming it's time to come off the grid as in regard to food and do it myself.

Nice to meet you all. Hopefully I can learn from you and if I have any ideas u can learn from me.

    Cheers!

    Colin

Hello and welcome Your set-up sounds pretty good to me - with one exception - the risk of bumping into Aberdeenplotter every fortnight

                              Welcome to the Vine, Colin.

What is it about Aberdeenshire, the East Mids and South Wales which make them such hot spots for grape activity??
