  • Uneven germination

A number of my seed trays are showing uneven germination. Seeds in one part of the tray germinate weeks before the remaining seeds. Would could be the reason? Big culprits - tomatoes and geraniums.

Everything germinates at different rates. I put different varieties in different small pots so that when one starts to show life, it comes out of the heated prop and something else goes in.

Could be due to lots of things. Soil temperature, moisture, seed quality, light, or capping of the soil, or something like perhaps lumpy soil on top of some seeds.

For instance at minimum germination temps success rate can be vastly reduced.

I like to think the plants are helping me with my Succession Sowing, which I always forget to do .
