  • Staggered planting

No not gardening after the pub... but is it worth planting things like peas in batches a couple of weeks apart so you get a longer harvest period rather than one big glut?

Sorry if its a daft question I am pretty new to this.

In gardening terms VegiDale it's called "successional sowing" (there's posh) so you know more than you think!

The shorter time to maturity the more likely you will get a crop.

So lettuces, spinach, radish, kohl rabis - yes.

        Tomatoes, peppers, caulis - no

You may not realise it ~ but there are early and late varieties of lots of veggies. So they kind of stagger themselves. I'm thinking of spuds, carrots, lots of things.
Different varieties of beans will crop at different rates too, with dwarf being quicker than climbing ones

They seem to catch up with each other and all come ready at once anyway!
