  • We don't call them blow aways for nothing.................

Very windy here today and my little mini greenhouse - under shelter in the arch of the stairs and attached to the wall with twine ...fell over this morning....all my broad beans and peas all over the floor plus sprouts, squash and herbs of various types.
Have been able to recover all the beans and peas because they had germinated so they were easy to find....i expect their progress will be set back somewhat from having to be repotted ...will have to wait and see but the herbs and sprouts were not retrievable - have emptied them out into one of the flower beds ...might germinate and should be able to tell them apart if they come up. Think the squash are still in their pots -only 3 of them thank goodness ...was going to stagger their planting.
Have got two rows of broad beans in the plot already so its not an absolute disaster unless i lose the peas....
have put the darn thing up again - bits of it were broken but had some spare legs etc but have taken it down one shelf and propped it uip with bits of wood and window boxes etc
know this has happened to loads of people....was cross ok now.

Same thing happened to mine last year .
Strange thing is that it was the only year we hadn't fastened it to the wall since the same thing happened 10 yrs ago

Just got to stay one step ahead all the time don't you?

At least it's early enough in the season to start again
