  • Busy but bad day.

This morning when I was making my bed at about 8.20 my dog wizzy was boffing (bof. bof) a small warning bark, then I heard some thumping noises outside. I got to the window upstairs to see a 'wrongun' kicking the shed doors in!!!! I instantly banged on the window and he shot off down the drive. Swear swear swear.... well I don't swear but you know what I mean.
Since then I have had the police round and the CSI people round. Its been non stop mucking about and fretting all day. The shed door is broken but I frightened him off before he could steal anything.
The police and CSI both said that they were after the mountain bikes that were in there. I didn't even know they were there.. I am staying at my daughters house till the work is done on my new place.
My brother said, quite sensibly I think, that I should have got my mobile phone and then knocked on the window and taken a pic of the little swearword as he looked towards the window. I didn't think of that, but if it ever happens again that's what I'll do.
Anyway the bikes are now inside the house where I hope they will be safe but I have to admit I do feel a little bit vulnerable tonight!!
    Swear, swear, swear.

At least you have your little companion with you Lynne. I'm sure he'll let you know if anything is amiss. Do you have any close neighbours there?

How upsetting Lynne - especially when you're in someone else's house - though its a good job you were there to scare the thief away. Maybe he thought the house was empty as 8.20 seems an odd time to attempt to break in.
Hope you have a peaceful night

Yes there is a party wall but its a massive house, it used to be a small hotel so getting myself heard if there was another problem could be hard.
It will be ok. Wizzy will look after me. Hes a sweety.

Wizzy will let you know if anything is wrong. And presumably you have a phone nearby.

My companion (Star - staffyx) is brilliant at letting me know if someone is about that shouldn't be. At least during the night, during the day she sounds off at cats and all sorts.

It's why I miss Tansy. Her bark/growls belied the size of her. Some folk are just vile. Keep safe!

I have a camcorder on my bike's handlebars, and last summer I got film of 6 little swearwords trespassing on our lotty site.
Police came round, viewed the film, then said they couldn't really make out their faces, and there's nothing much they could do
