  • Mobile phones.

Time as come for me to update my mobile. I have been with Orange for years but they are now quite expensive.

Looking round I see I can get a Samsung phone the same as my sons at a very good 24month deal from Tesco.

As anyone any experience with Tesco and how do you find their service.

    Thanks Potty

Is T€sco network still linked to 02? I was with BT/02 for years, no problems. I only changed when I wanted a phone they told me I couldn't have. I don't do 'No' when I want 'Yes' so I switched! No complaints with V0d@fone either.

The deal I am looking at is a Samsung Galaxy Ace 500 minutes, 5000 texts, 500meg data, 24 month contract £12-50p a month.

The main reason for the change is that one of my clients wants to be able to e-mail direct to my phone and if I can save money at the same time that will be a bonus.

        Thanks for the replies Potty.

Have you tried negotiating with Orange? My wife always seems to get good deals with them.

I am going to ring them tomorrow but I like to get things straight first.

I recommended this deal to my sister in October last year and she's been on the contract since November.

She's very happy with the phone and the service; early days but she's had no problems at all.

If you use cash back sites you can (in theory) get £35 back via Q@idco although the review on the reliability on the site isn't great... having said that if you're going to go for it anyway you've nothing to lose giving it a go!

I have this phone, with Tesco. It was my first non-Nokia (I prefer a nice, heavy brick) and it was quite a departure for me to get something that does anything other than simply sending text and making calls.

As it turns out, I still don't really use any of the features on it other than text/calls; trying to use the internet/anything else on a little screen thing drives me bonkers. It seems fine though.

The service from Tesco has been problem-free, nothing bad to report!

We've just got mama H on a 2 yr contract, Talk Talk, 175 mins, 5000 texts. Don't know about her net stuff, but she's not a net user. Texts more than talks. £7.50, She has the ace from Samsung.
Pops, is on a year long, £10.50, with T mobile. 300 mins, I think, stupid amount of texts. But he talks more. Has got a mini Ace.
