Yes, even when you know how it's done, it's still clever. His show was awesome, I have never heard of him...........I lead a sheltered life.........

This thread has brought back a long-forgotten memory - of a Chr****as present I had as a kid - a conjuring set!! It had a little plastic wand, some playing cards, some cups and a ball that you could make disappear and a thin blue plastic box with a sliding drawer. You put something in the drawer and when you pulled the draweer out again the something had disappeared. Slide the drawer back in, say Abracadabra, pull the drawer out and there it was again. Imagine its Christmas day, you're down to your last cigarette and you're persuaded to put it in the magic box (this is me and my dad - and because we didn't have much money his ciggies were a real treat). So in goes the ciggie, I tap the box with my wand and say the magic words etc etc - do you think the ciggie would come out again. Dad was going frantic - he didn't want to break the box as it was my best present.... It took him hours of levering with a knife to get it back and all we could do was laugh at him!

I don't like illusionists at all but find slight of hand magicians very good. That said, I think you lose a lot of the effect on the screen as there is always the feeling that it's some camera trickery. Went to a wedding once that had a guy wandering around doing card tricks, couldn't work them out at all and he was very impressive and gave us something to do while the photos went on forever
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
