  • Cost of Fuel in your area..............

Well I'm not going to rant about it, not yet anyway.

I have a theory that the cost of fuel is much higher in areas where the demand for fuel is higher. Around me for example the cost of Petrol is £1.41 , Diesel £1.44 & LPG £.69p per litre.

This area has lots of rural food packing sites who employ hundreds of shift workers around the clock. No public transport to cover these areas so you have to have a car; and it is also one of the major hubs for transporting food produce around the country.

I think the cost of fuel around here is high compared to other parts of the country. I'm one of the lucky ones as I run on LPG.

    What do you think?

Generally I find that fuel costs more in rural areas because there is less competition, especially from the supermarkets. Many of the out of town petrol stations seem to be closing down, lessening the choices further.

Petrol is £1.31.9 - no idea about the other two. It's more expensive further out from the main cities I find, i.e. in sme valley town the other week unleaded was £1.44.x which was higher than diesel n my local texaco!

        That's what I find too.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

We have all the big name petrol stations along with Asda, Sainsbogs, Tesco & Morries (ugh! have to go and wash my mouth out now )

We also have at least three or four indpendants. I'm quite rural, about a mile from the Wash as the crow flys. Even then I'm only two miles from A17 & three from A16. But the petrol stations & supermarkets are all near major roads i.e A16 & A17 and good size towns like Boston & Spalding

I think its all about competition, within a 15 mile radius of my home the largest UK supermarket has quite a varied price, the more competition the lower the price and vice versa.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
