Good job we are having some pheasant ones for tonight's dinner, from the local butcher. He's starting to get lots of gamey ones in. Toad in the hole I think with some Savoy cabbage and gravy.

When we had a butchers shop in the village he used to get his Sausage supplies from Lashfords in Knowle and they were gorgeous the Pork Apple and Leek were my favorite they also did a sausage called a royal sausage to celebrate Charles and Dianas wedding and if you wanted more than one you were greedy they were big ones 92% pork and bacon .
But alas the shop has shut now along with the post office jacob

I'm not keen on them really, but will eat them. Probably a hang up from eating cheapo ones in uni, full of gristle etc. *puke*

I had some sausage (and chorizo) pasta tonight. They were smoked sausages - of which I'm not keen on smoked foods at all. Bleh.

Shouldn't complain though, so if you read this dear wife - thanks for cooking

A few years ago I found a local butcher who makes all his own on the premise's.

As his other trade declined due to super market pressure he found sausage to be a niche market and now makes over 30 varieties. Cowboy with Heinz beans being one of my favs.

                  Potty.

I am doing Sausage Suprise to tea tonight, using roasted sausage meat balls and my own roasted tomatoes, covered in sliced tatties and topped with grated cheese. I get my sausage from a pork butcher (Waterall/Barrows) in Sheffield market, who make some of the best sauages and pies in the area. Not cheap, but full of meat and little fat.

Lashfords are lovely, friends of ours in Birmingham get them from their butcher and we always get them to bring us a few of they're coming to a BBQ at ours. They do a good chilli one.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
