  • Well, It Made Me Look Good...

The house we've just moved to came with a Greenhouse (and small poly tunnel, squuuuueeeeee!!) and I was having a route around in it yesterday briefly. The last owner of the house gave me the parting words that the kitchen garden and everything in it was now in my care as he was leaving a lot in it for me.

Anyway, during the mini nose I stumbled upon his seed stash. Well.... stach isn't the word - near on shop of it's own is more like it

Don't get me wrong, I'm not grumbling, I've got plenty now to keep me going for.. well quite frankly an awfully long time. Plus, it has made Mr Shortie realise that no, I never used to have THAT bad of a seed hoarding issue, really guv! By comparison, I was small fry for hoarding seeds

Lucky you! So now the question for me is...........should I order some more seeds...........or just move to a well seeded house!

Lol... Well I should add here that I seem to now own around 10 varieties of runner bean, and 5 of broad beans.... slightly over the normal number of (2!) varieties I'd usually punt the season with, lol. I think the only thing missing from my normal list for a year was carrot!

However, I suspect a bog seed order would still be cheaper than a well seed stocked house

How exciting Shortie! I wonder what other surprises await discovery. I have to ask, did you buy the house because of the garden or was that a bonus?
I nearly bought a house once because there was a collection of old stoneware jars half buried in an outhouse!!

Nice find alright.....as if you probably needed anymore seeds anyways

Now, for the next while at least, if you give in to your (entirely normal ) urges to buy more seeds, you can tell the other half that you found more seeds in the attic, in an old press, in a drawer etc etc

Um, well... {shuffles her feet and mumbles to the floor} it was the photos of the garden that got me round to see the house. It was a realy curve ball for us as we were looking centrally in town before I spotted this house on RightMove, and there were hardly any photos of the house online, but the garden ones drew me to want to come and have a look

What I didn't expect, was to be left the green house, poly tunnel and my name put down on his lottie, lol!

Oh, and 2 little sheds, a large shed, a brick shed at the front and a summer house. I'm still convinced someone's going to knock the front door at any point and remind me I have to have returned the keys and paid my room bill by 10am the next morning

Lol, thank you The attic was super clear except for an agricultural auction listing which I'll have a nose at at some point (and probably have to goole 95% of it to find out what on earth was being sold.

The garden and all its buildings would have sold it to me too! The little house that I bought a few years ago appealed because it had a summer house, a tree house and a view - and they left me the swing. What more could anyone want?
I'm sure you're going to be very happy there

Thanks Paul, I really feel like my roots have set at this house, I've felt such a strong connection to a house and area before it's sooo liberating! It's a shame when you hear about moving disasters isn't it? Most people invest a lot of emotion into buying a home, for it to then go wrong
