  • Help with PC problem please

I've just finally got round to having a wireless router for my pc and that got installed with no problems. However, I decided to "tidy up" things on the pc once I'd fimished and have now "lost" access to my photo card reader.

There is a slot on the pc where I've always just inserted the SD card to put my photos onto the pc. Now it won't work. The green light doesn't come on any more when I put the card in. There's no problem with the card (I can put my photos onto the pc using a usb cable). I must have deleted something by mistake.

I've googled and can't find out how to restore the internal reader. (Or understand what some people are saying!).

Can anyone help please? Don't forget I don't do technical very well So keep your answers simple. Thanks

Please ignore above - I've sorted it! Seems as if I'd just disabled a USB connection because when I went into Device Manager, there it was, disabled. So I just enabled it, rebooted and it's working perfectly. Feel quite pleased with myself!

you might have tidied up the driver.

from now on, don't 'tidy' unless you know what you're tidying
depending on your operating system, the old, shut down and reboot might force it into recognising a piece of hardware and automatically re-installing.
If that doesn't work, look in your control panel/system/device manage and see if there's anything with an exclamation mark by it.
