  • Another Chilli ID please.

    Hi all
These seeds were given to me as Big Jim.
Given that the fruit are small - thumb sized - and reasonably hot I suspect it is not.
The flowers are blue/prurple and the leaves slightly hairy. The seeds were sown last year and the plant overwintered indoors before being planted outside in the spring. The seeds inside the fruit are black, but I can't remember what colour the original sown seeds were.

There is plenty of green fruit still, but I doubt much more will turn red.

    Thanks much

Do you know what colour the chillis end up? Ie purple or red?

They look like a purple one due to the flowers.....are they very round or more conical? (hard to tell from pic)

Manzano chillies have black seeds with leaves that are furry. The fruit is round about the size of a small tangerine

The fruit go a deep red - or at least that is the stage I've picked them, and round - perhaps cylindrical - rather than conical.
The leaves look spot on for manzano.

I'm on my phone and I can't see the pics very well but manzano chilli plants also have purple flowers. I have a few growing at the moment- more like a tree! One is 3ft tall
