  • Do plants like music?

Just saw this article about the effect of music on the size of this gentleman's cucumber (I'm sorry but there was no other way to say it!) BBC News - Cucumber is played temple music by Cardiff gardener
Has anyone else heard this theory - since it is said to have been on a gardening programme. I talk to my plants all the time but they seem to ignore me..........

Sorry but I now have a vision in my mind of Prince Chas getting the monumental hump, jumping up & down shouting "Orf with thier heads" when the cabagges refuse to grow.

Supposedly, plants like classical and country, but not heavy metal or rock. Are there any heavy metal fans on the vine who find they can't keep house plants alive? Or country music fans whose houses are a veritable jungle of plants?

Yeah that's me, AKA Tenner C.... I like a bit of a sing song now and again. Thanks

And yes, take the spuds out of your ears now lol.

I've lost quite a bit of weight since that was done... I have to run around in the shower these days just to get wet!

Its a pity you're not in West Wales - you'd be very welcome in our local music pub. Its Bluegrass this weekend.

Not in West Wales but I was in Southern Ireland a few weeks back. Are you anywhere near Fishguard?

I miss doing my bit for the linedancers. I'm too busy messing about on my plot now

I'm in Carmarthenshire (when I'm not in Cardiff) but both places are on the mainline to Fishguard!
You'll have to play to your plot, get those carrots dancing in line......
