  • Making a 'Handmade Card'

I'd like to make a greetings card for someone.

I have the basic idea of the image I'd like to create, but I'm not very good at arty stuff.

I have various coloured felts to create the design with.

    Any tips for me?!?

I don't have many felts, and only two cards, so I don't want to make lots of mistakes.

cut out templates for the shapes you want on paper first. then you can tweak as much a needed before cutting the final shapes in your felt.

Do you make alot of cards?

My wife makes all of our cards with the kits that come with Lets Make Cards. May be worth seeing if you can track one down for ideas?

The other thing she does is google 'Homemade Cards' on their image search for inspiration.

Hope this helps, the most important thing is that you made it so it will be great and more cherished then any other card no matter what the design.

        Its the thought that counts.

I make all my own cards and I often Google for ideas. For myself, I like simple cards without too much fussiness. Double sided tape is a must have and there are some very nice fonts these days for the sentiment inside. Depending upon who it is for, I often print the "happy birthday" bit for the front of the card on glossy paper, draw around the lines with a glue pen and sprinkle glitter on it.

              Thanks everyone.

I'm going for the paper template/double sided tape idea.

I only need to make one :-)

You would think he'd tell his special friends, Di, wouldn't you

If you only need the one, don't suppose you could send me the other blank for a subtle 'Goodbye' card?

Would it be so subtle that there would be nothing written on it?
