with the peculiar weather this year it was really hard to time the cutting of the crop, well more of when to stop cutting,i stayed on the side of caution and stopped early, and now the bed is absolutely packed with large, tall fronds waving in the breeze,as they were grown from seed 6/7 years ago, this is a great preview of what we will get next year,so the long long long spring did do some good in the end, keeping my eye out now in case David Bellamy comes thru the foliage (5-6ft) on one of his nature walks...

Similar story down here. Got to say that the bed I raised from seed was better than the crown brought bed this year. Forgot to salt beds, so there was a lot of weeding and slug damage (aggrevated by slow growth) this year too.
Looking pretty heathy now tho....admire your positive take on that...just hope that it follows through with a nice warm spring.
