  • Rapid germination

Hi all, I planted loads of things in trays on Saturday evening and today when checked the wallflowers, lettuce and tarragon have already germinated. Can't believe how quick they have grown in just over 36 hours. Well happy :-)

don't bother with the tarragon, it's the russian kind that grows from seed and it has no taste. You need cuttings from French tarragon
well done on the lettuce and wallflowers though

Yeah, I've found stuff germinates much more quickly than packets or books suggest, especially when sown indoors. It's so exciting when your new to it all. It's especially exciting if you're new to growing veg, but have grown ornamentals from seed before, as veggies seem to germinate much more quickly and reliably.

I'll second the comment about the tarragon. My excitement at all this green herb stuff growing was tempered by actually tasting it. Might as well add grass to my cooking.
