  • Tomatoes yellow and not red?

Hi all i have a really odd problem....i have some standard variety tomatoes either Moneymaker or Alicante (a definate red variety on the seed packet) there are loads of fruits on the plants but they are definatly yellow...no hint of red at all!! The leaves are fine no blotching just a bit of curl. My Gardeners delight are doing fine nearby so i am puzzled? They are identical colour to the 'golden/yellow' varities.

They are in growbags in the greenhouse. Watered regularly with feed once a week.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They could quite easily be a mixed up seed. Give the fruits a squeeze, if they're soft then they're ripe and you just have a rogue seed so enjoy them (if they taste good then save some seeds for next year). If they're still hard then leave for a few days longer.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Hi Alison Thanks for your reply. I have just brought one out the greenhouse to try. My husband said they were really sweet and they were soft like fully ripe so i guess you could be right! :-)
