    Concentrate multi purpose feed or tomato feed

    Hi,

    I need to get some food for my cucumbers. What would be the best for them between multi purpose feed or tomato feed????

    tomato feed, if they're starting to fruit.

      well they have similar N:P:K ratio's, so it doesn't realy matter.

      Just make sure the K (potassium) is the highest of the three. The N is nitrogen and helps with leaf growth, the p is for phosphorus and helps the flowers set and the K is for potassium and helps the fruits to swell.

        I thought they were both the same just wanted to make sure but i din't know about the N:P:K so taht another thing iv'e learnt thanks

          It depends on which multi purpose feed you mean.

          Miracle Grow for example is very high in nitrogen, where as most tomato feed are high in potash. They are most certainly not the same.

          I use Miracle Grow at the start os the season to promote green growth and then change to tomorite when the fruit appears.
