  • Too late?

Hi, I am thinking about sowing some courgettes now, do you think it will be too late. I thought many because the season is running late and good weather isonits way there may still be a chance?. Also am I too late for psb?
    Thanks all

Nothing to lose except a few seeds. With the promise of better weather who knows. If you could get hold of plants from the garden centre you'd have a better chance. From seed I'd say chances are slim o,f getting many if any.

I think courgettes from seed are unlikely at this stage, but anything's worth a try if you've the space and the seeds . PSB should be fine I would have thought - I planted some not long ago and they've popped through OK.

Courgettes, I would think if the weather turns and then holds you could be in with a good chance of a late crop.

PSB, depends on the vareity I am already harvesting the first of my Summer Purple whilst my other vareities are at various stages of growth. I would have a lookat the different vareities and see if you can get a late planting one.

I had to sow more PSB last week AHT, because the snugs had mown down my plants, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Although it's a little late for courgettes, I am starting some off tomorrow because so many of mine have also been snugged. Worth a try I'd say, who knows what will happen if we do get an Indian Summer?

Maybe if you have cover to put on them later in the season, they'll be ok? I've only had one tiny courgette so far this year (and the cukes have frozen in time!), so I think you're taking a gamble, but who knows. Try a couple!

Was thinking the same as mine have all been munched by the only things that are thriving in this horrible weather. We're on a promise for late sun so it may work. Fingers crossed.
