    Slugs

    I think i have just seen the biggest slug ever ! yuk normally they are dark and about inch long, this was stuck to my electric box cover a good 8 inchs long and light brown colour, armed with my adapted slug removing tool ( pair of kitchen tongs ) it took some serious pulling off, my tongs looked like they had been swallowed by that green thing out of ghostbusters !

    Could be one of those spanish ones in the news recently? I've large ones too, much more fun to snip in half

      My neighbour said he had heard of some invasion by European slugs, oh yes it got squashed, then thrown into the slug killing bucket of salt ! to make sure. the bucket i have named slug court, justifiable punishment for trying to munch my plants !!!

            This was slimey, when i managed to prize it off, my tongs looked like they had been dipped in wall paper paste

                  It was a daft slug anyway i found it in the front garden, stuff i have growing in the front slugs dont seem to bother with, if the giant thing could have worked out how to get in the back garden it would have been a eat all you can buffet !!!

                    Do slugs actually serve a purpose ? or are they there just to be annoying ? abit like a teenage daughter !

                      They do eat decompsing veg. Excluding the new Spanish slug, the larger ones (black, orange or brown) are actually supposed to be less harmful to veg than the little ones (according to I think Pippa Greenwood on GQT). The 'bad' ones are the snot or black coloured little ones and the keeled slugs (have a ridge on their back).
