  • Garlic storage

I have harvested my Albignesian Wight garlic and want to save some cloves for next years crop.
What is the best way to do this?

Bearing in mind garlic gets planted in October, most garlic stores well for several months after that, so as already said, keep cool (not a problem at the moment) and dry (shed or garage probably best). I always plant the biggest cloves for the next year, usually they are the ones around the edge of the bulb, the centre ones are usually smaller and get used in the kitchen. I don't break them apart until time to plant so they don't dry out.
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
      Now a little Shrinking Violet.
