looks like you left it on the vine too long, like it's trying to fruit.
Cut i off smaller next time. Are you sure it's a cucumber plant and not a gherkin? -
What variety is it?

Could it be Crystal Lemon? Although, it doesn't look quite right for that.Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.
