  • when to shave leek flowers?

Tried to search old posts for when to cut the flowers off leek flower heads to make them produce bulbils, but couldn't find it. Should I cut off the flowers as soon as the outer covering breaks open, or wait for some other signal?

I just wait until the flower is round rather than pointed - if that makes sense. Mine are just about to pop their cap off any day now.

Here is a similar thread that was brought back to life today as I'd like to know more about this process too. http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ips_57843.html
