  • My peas are blooming!!!

Finally!!! There's one bud on the ones I sowed direct on 20 April. And to my great surprise, the ones I started in rootrainers a month later and only planted out a couple of weeks ago have several buds and even an open flower, despite being half the height. I'm definitely starting them indoors next year.

Maybe, just maybe, I shall get to eat a homegrown pea this year!

be sure to pick your peas while they are nice and young, totally different sweetness as they age,its hard to keep up but the difference in taste is astounding, should be some room between the peas i find is best..

I'm gonna pick my first crop this weekend (petits pois) - only a little crop as I've got a balcony with 2 pots worth and been fighting with the best way of supporting them. (Willow trellis - 1.38 in Asda a couple of weeks ago has done the trick) I picked a test pod earlier in the week and I got some nice little peas!

I shall do a little hap-pea dance too!

Pea dance here too, though my peas seem to be dancing in the wind too . I now always start my peas off indoors first and get strong healthy plants as a result. Happy picking in a few weeks.
