Two of my sweet pepper plants have fruit. One only has one fruit but is perfect bell pepper shape and about 3 inches long and 3 inches wide. The other has about 10-12 fruit and more coming is very bushy and plenty of flowers, however they vary in size and shape from 1 inch to about 4 inches, and are more shaped like those small sweet peppers you can get in Tescos.
My question is, are some peppers designed to be quite small and how would I tell? Do all peppers go red/yellow/ orange etc eventually only at present they are all green. I dont want some to rot because I leave them too long waiting for them to change colour if they dont always do that.
Also the plant with multiple peppers seems to be getting a bit crowded, Im not sure how the peppers will have room to get to the size you generally see. Are they often picked whilst smaller?
