Looks like we will have a bit of sun with our showers and a few degrees warmer.

Perfect for blight- and any toms which do survive ( fingers crossed) will probably not have much flavour cos it's so wet! Ah- the joys of not having a greenhouse!

No greenhouse here either Nicos and no sun, so it's looking like very few tomatoes. Pity, I've got loads of basil and coriander.

The accuweather forecasts are amazingly optimistic in how far ahead they try and predict the weather, and I find they, despite the name, tend not to be very accurate.

I tend to think that if forecasters can't accurately predict the weather for the next day, there's little chance they'll have it right for the next 25 days.

I'm hoping that's the case now, as the month overview on the website doesn't have any pictures of the sun until the 19th, when it has the prediction of 'clouds and sun'. Every day up until then has either 'rain' or 'showers' predicted to some extent. Please be wrong!

I have learnt to trust only one thing for the weather, and thats looking up at the sky.

Today in Essex was supposed to be non stop rain, but we've had mostly bright white cloud with a small shower followed by some sun. Enough to heat up the GH anyway!

One of my iPhone apps had current weather with 0% chance of rain in the middle of an absolute downpour. When they can't even get the current weather right, you really do start to question their value.

Somewhat contradictory however, even though I have no faith at all in weather forecasts, I still get extremely frustrated by sites/apps that don't provide an hourly breakdown. It's like I know they'll be wrong, but I want an hour by hour breakdown of their incorrect predictions.

Comparing weather forecasters is a bit like comparing broken bones...some are worse than others but they're all bad.

I've seen television weather forecasters get it wrong when talking about the previous days' weather.

Celery and celeriac like boggy..........and i think they flood the fields that cranberries are grown in ......

Only for harvesting. That said, my cranberries in pots are growing well and starting to put out a bud or two.

Weather forecasters have a fool proof system for always being 50% correct.

It works like this, the man at the Beeb phones the lady at ITV and asks "what are you forecasting today?" The lady tells him in detail and he then forecasts exactly..................the opposite.

Job done they can claim they are never less than 50% deadly accurate.

It's officially also the dullest with the fewer sunny days since 1860somethimgrather.
